One and a half years after photographing their wedding at The Point in Milwaukee, I had the honor of capturing Beckey and Julien’s second wedding day, this time in Julien’s hometown of Saint-Pathus, France. The day started with their friend Sandrine Escarabajal at Tables el Fleurs d’un Jour decorating the venue with roses and lavender mixed in with potted cacti to honor Beckey’s Mexican heritage.
Meanwhile, at Julien’s childhood home, Beckey’s friend Sabrine, who happens to be an icredible hair and makeup artist, was taking care of Beckey’s preparations. Beckey’s little sister and number one fan watched closely and jumped in to help whenever she could.
Across the street, at the home of Julien’s best friend, my Eric helped the groom get ready while Beckey’s family also got ready. Shortly after, Beckey arrived and the bride and groom had their (second) first look before heading to the town’s hall to start their ceremony.
With all of Julien’s friends and family, plus Beckey’s Wisconsin/México contingent present, Beckey and Julien once again swapped vows, then proceeded to have one of the most relaxed and fun weddings I’ve ever been to. Although the weather was very hot (we were in the middle of the famous heat wave of 2019), all participants enjoyed hours of lawn games and delicious appetizers and drinks, followed by a formal dinner, heartfelt speeches, and dancing that went on until the following day. These two lovely humans and their families now have a special place in our hearts.
